Church Life




For over 150  years,  First Presbyterian Church of Franklin Grove has been active in  witness, mission and service mission in the town and the surrounding area. Local missions and outreach programs include, but are not limited to:

  • The “Buddy System - members provide help for those in the community in need of assistance.

  • “Operation Christmas Child - members provide items, pack, and wrap shoeboxes to send to children in need.

  • The annual breakfast served on Sunday morning during the Harvest Fest.

  • The “Hug Pillow” and “Prayer Shawl” ministry – pillows and shawls are made by members of the Presbyterian and Lee Center United Church of Christ congregations. 

  • Yearly garage sales and cookie sales - these fundraisers are used for missions such as providing funding for area youth to attend summer church camp.  These sales also help the community by offering items at very affordable prices and by donating unsold items to local missions.

  • The First Presbyterian Church of Franklin Grove also participates in all of the Franklin Center Community Church Council’s ministries:  annual Vacation Bible School, baccalaureate, Lenten services, Easter Sunrise service, monthly First Wednesday services, and the local food pantry.
